Lived in Texas and New Mexico for a few years, word of advice for visitors...make sure you have a really decent jacket in your vehicle at all times. Come noon it's 110 degrees out but come sundown it's freezing, especially when it's windy which is a different kind of cold, goes right through you, whereas on the East coast it's in your bones.
